Christian Junge - Planning green cities, legislature & authorities

Dipl.-Ing. Arch. MSc., Architect, Urban Designer and Planning Assessor

Christian Junge is an architect and urban designer with more than 12 years of international professional experience. He studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart and the Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio (Switzerland), as well as regional and urban planning at the London School of Economics. Christian has been a founding Director at Urbanlogic Ltd., an urban planning and architectural design firm based in Hong Kong and Berlin, and worked on projects in China, Hong Kong, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as with local government, international agencies and private sector clients, including China Vanke, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and BMW Group.

Prior to founding Urbanlogic, Christian worked for internationally renowned design firms such as Herzog & De Meuron, David Chipperfield Architects, and Woods Bagot, as well as a researcher for the Commission of Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).

Christian has taught at the University of Greenwich, the University of Stuttgart and at Shandong University, and has been a guest critic at the Architectural Association (UK), the Bartlett School of Architecture (UK), Nanjing Southeast University and the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum.

Christian is an Auditor for sustainable new-build urban districts with the German Green Building Council (DGNB). As a Government Planning Assessor accredited by the German federal government, he is currently a Project Manager at the Berlin Senate’s Housing Taskforce.
