Topic: Valuations, to what extent can Valuations influence value of Real Estate

Tu has been in real estate business for 4 years. She is eager to share her experience in professional world from the point of view of a Millennial/Generation Z. As a fan of interactive learning, she presents herself as a “workshop instructor” who will guide students through basic valuation concepts and methods. Students are welcome to try some simple but real-world valuation exercises in the class.

At the age of 17, in 2011 she came to the Czech Republic from Vietnam to enrol in an undergraduate program in Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.  She finished all courses of the three-year program within two years to devote her last two semesters seeking for challenges. She spent a summer running her own business in the USA. In 2014, she started her career at Cushman & Wakefield, one of the global Big Four in real estate consulting, while at the same time finishing her bachelor program with the highest ranking among her peers and the Rector’s Award (Cena Rektora).

At C&W, Tu has been participating in more than 70 valuation projects, from single assets to complex portfolios, from existing buildings to development sites, from standard buildings to specialist assets such as cinema multiplexes. She has been involved in valuations not only in the Czech Republic but also in other CEE nations such as Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. Her track record also includes high-street retail landmarks (Van Graaf department store on Wenceslas Square and Palladium shopping centre on Republic Square…) and the largest shopping centre in the CEE region (Centrum Chodov). The most recent success is a new instruction to value 36 supermarkets and retail assets across the Czech Republic. She is on her way to becoming a RICS Registered Valuer.

In parallel with her full-time job at C&W, Tu is pursuing a Master’s double-degree program at Charles University in the Czech Republic and Science Po Strasbourg in France, one of the highly selective French elite universities. She enjoys helping others, cherishes Mother Earth and eco-friendly lifestyle, promotes ethical values, and spreads out a positive attitude.
