Law

There are two unique Summer Law Programs in cooperation with the Charles University in Prague for you to choose from.
The New Technology Law Branch 5.7.2021 - 20.8.2021 and Traditional Law Branch 14.6.2021 - 30.7.2021.

What is our approach? The following is how ECCEDU Summer Program works:

Two Branches: New Technology Law & Traditional law

The Law Global Career Summer Program enables students to choose, of two cohorts, the one best aligned with their professional goals and personal interests. Overall, 30 topics will be covered by 30 speakers in 3 weeks. It is the right choice for students who want to explore business transactions from a business-law perspective and combine it with up-to-date practical expertise. The program is always updated for the current year and always brings together people not writing books about these topics, but facing them on a daily basis in the real life of law, business, and technology.

The New Technology cohort (starting 5 July 2021) combines and melt both - global business legal areas such as M&A, Corporate Law, Real Estate regulation, or Dispute Resolution with new legal areas such as Artificial Intelligence Regulation, Big Data, Data Privacy Protection or Telecommunication Law.

In contrast, the Traditional Law cohort (starting 14 June 2021) is meant for future legal professionals who strive to understand more specialized areas of law such as energy law, capital markets, or franchising. It is meant for those who strive to be legal professionals, but also want the insights of executives or entrepreneurs, and for those who desire to become entrepreneurs themselves. It goes without saying that it also includes all essentials named before such as M&A, Corporate Law, Real Estate, etc.

Internships

Our internships offer the perfect experience to lift students to new heights and bring them closer to their goals.

The internships are 4 - 5 week long work experience sessions arranged at a company of the student’s choice, depending on his/her ranking on the ECCEDU test. Internships are always under the close supervision and guidance of senior company representatives, who look after students, coach them and help them grow - for this reason, each company doesn’t take on more than 1 or 2 students.

During their internships, students get assigned personalized tasks, designed to fit their personal and professional interests. Their internship work also typically includes the practical side of office work, such as research, translations, the drafting of documents, the writing of memoranda, or attending meetings.

Students can choose internships in several international ECCEDU partners located in almost all European countries. Internship opportunities range from the largest international companies to smaller firms with a focused area of expertise. In the past, these have included DLA Piper, Clifford Chance, Bird & Bird, King Wood Mallesons, Linklaters, Kinstellar, Dentons, T-Mobile, Siemens, Lego, Coca Cola, among others.

ECCEDU partner companies supply students with reference letters, to help them be more competitive in the market place or for further education purposes.

The goal is to engage students in various free-time activities and introduce them to European culture in an entertaining and didactic way. We organize escape games, karaoke sessions, laser games, and barbecues, go sightseeing in Prague and discover traditional products and shop for souvenirs. Trips around the Czech Republic and abroad are also organized: in the past, students have gone to Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora, Vienna, and Berlin.

Recognized ECCEDU Graduation Certificates are provided.

After the end of lectures, ECCEDU holds an informal certificate awarding ceremony, usually in the form of an evening Barbecue event.
