Filip Pokorný - Mall design in time of online shopping

Filip graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Master planning in Brno 2006. In 2013, he received his PhD diploma at the same faculty. The aim of his dissertation work was to identify support mechanisms for the redevelopment of postindustrial areas in the Czech Republic. Such support mechanisms were researched and analysed in those EU countries that have broad and varied experience with the regeneration of postindustrial areas. During his studies, he joined student exchange program at University of Brighton. Since 2004 he gained design experience on various types of projects, from Brno master plan to several family residences in North Moravia and worked with other practices as Arch Design, Kohlarchitekt, and SH Architects.

Filip joined Chapman Taylor in 2007 and is responsible for managing key projects for Chapman Taylor’s most important clients., including several shopping centres in the Czech Republic and abroad. As well as very strong retail design skills, he brings specialist knowledge on planning and regeneration.

Balancing commercial and architectural insight, he has worked across all project stages - from feasibility, planning, and building permitting processes, through to on-site construction quality control.

Filip cooperated, as a professional expert, on leading of bachelor’s and master’s studio works during his post gradual studies at the Faculty of Architecture and Master planning in Brno. He took part as a member of final and entrance exam comities.
