Dr Diana Tlupova has around 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry, most of which was spent in the City of London. She is currently heading the global compliance program in one of the fastest growing crypto companies in the world – Crypto.com. Before joining the company, Diana was leading a team of financial crime compliance specialists at one of the largest forex brokers, FXCM, where she was VP for Financial Crime Compliance. She was responsible for conducting impact assessments of new regulations on the business, reviewing and revising internal policies and procedures to ensure the business is compliant and producing internal briefings for the firm’s CCO and CEO.
Prior to FXCM, Diana has served as a Senior Policy Advisor for Consumer Credit and Illegal Money Lending at the UK’s financial regulator – FCA – where she led the development of rules and regulations (CONC, part of the FCA Handbook) for £1.7 billion consumer credit markets in the UK. At FCA Diana, as part of the cross-departmental team, successfully delivered a prominent project on capping the price of high-cost short-term credit, which is estimated to have saved consumers around £157 million. She also organized and chaired a network of international regulators (Australia, Canada, USA, Finland and Japan) to share experiences and identify best practices of regulating consumer credit markets.
Whilst in London, working for the UK National Audit Office, Diana led performance and financial audits of various bodies, such HM Revenue & Customs, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Office of Fair Trading and United Nations. She produced audit reports for the Public Accounts Committee and advised Public Administration Select Committee on economic affairs at the UK Parliament.
Diana has PhD in Economics, is an author of 25 publications and policy papers and is a member of the ACAMS.
