Ali Al Aidarous has represented and advised clients in matters relating to a variety of business fields including international sales/distribution contracts, franchising, banking, Islamic finance, insurance and re-insurance, carriage (air and sea), construction, real estate, intellectual property, joint ventures, corporate establishments (within free zones and UAE generally), financial markets, securities, corporate governance, and international arbitration.
His expertise is not only confined to representing and advising clients before various arbitration panels, but also acting as arbitrator, as he is a qualified listed arbitrator before the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), DIFC-LCIA, ICC Paris, Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC), Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Center (TAHKEEM), and the Arbitration Centre of the AGCC in Bahrain.
Ali Al Aidarous is also licensed to appear before the DIFC Courts, and has represented clients in this jurisdiction, which are modelled on the common law system.
Having worked closely with lawyers trained in the common law system, and being a practitioner before DIFC Courts that follow such system, he has gained considerable experience in assisting common law practitioners/arbitrators to better understand the principles of UAE law, specially relating to case law at the level of both the Federal and Dubai Supreme Courts.
Ali Al Aidarous has vast experience in alternate dispute resolution methods, including arbitration as he was involved with various arbitration training programs, and has over the years participated in many conferences as speaker and panellist.
Ali Al Aidarous has also provided several expert witness statements concerning issues relating to UAE laws before foreign courts, such as New York USA, Queensland, Australia, Oslo, Norway, and before many international arbitration forums.
