Radan Marek works in Prague Stock Exchange as the director of the legal department. Radan graduated at Masaryks´ Law School in Brno in 1999 and finalised his Masters of Laws studies at the University of London in 2010 where he specialised in trusts and commercial law at UCL. His working experience contains positions of a law clerk in an office of attorney at law, a lawyer for Czech Securities Commission and internal lawyer for a private company. He is in charge of the legal department at PSE since 2007 and his department is also responsible for legal and regulatory work for Energy Exchange where energy is traded and from 2010 for Central Securities Depository Prague, that deals with post-trading issues such as the settlement of securities trades and keeps the register of dematerialised securities.
Radan is active on academic ground too. He co-published two legal books. The first regards securities issues in the new Czech Civil Code and the second the administration of property and the new trust concept in the same new Civil Code. He gives lectures on his alma mater Faculty of law in Brno, and on a regular basis at different types of conferences and seminars dealing with capital market issues.
His pastimes are travelling, cultural scene, international politics. He is married with two daughters. Radan is almost fluent in English, can speak German at an intermediate level and is a beginner in Italian.
