Attorney, the member of the Warsaw Bar Chamber, doctor of Juridical Science (PhD), awarded the post-doctoral degree of “doktor habilitowany”, assistant professor in the Institute of Criminal Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
Dr hab. Pawelec received a number of Polish and international awards. He represented the Polish Bar Council in the parliamentary works on the government and parliamentary drafts of the amendment introducing a reform of criminal procedure. He also was a vice president of the scientific council and the secretary of the Scientific Centre of the Polish Bar Council. Apart from his academic work, he is also a lecturer at the Postgraduate Studies of Combating Economic Crimes, Tax Crimes and Property Crimes at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
Dr hab. Pawelec is the author of two books and many other publications in the area of criminal law, criminal procedure and commercial law, including the first, in the Polish market, book on the protection of interests of joint-stock companies and limited liability companies in business criminal proceedings (“Company as an Aggrieved Party in Criminal Proceedings”) and an entirely novel in legal literature monograph on the interdependence between protection of enterprise secrets in criminal law and the need to identify and protect such secrets in criminal procedure (“Protection of enterprise secrets in criminal law and criminal procedure”).
In January 2017, after the parliamentary proceeding, he was elected Poland’s candidate for a judge at the General Court of the European Union.
