Brno is the second largest town in the Czech Republic by population and area. It is located in the southeastern part of the country - Moravia and it is the biggest city there. Brno is a prehistoric place with a castle dating to royal history of the House of Přemyslid family since XI century.
During 1900 the city had up to 63 per cent of the German population, the atmosphere was bilingual. In 1928 the big Exhibition Centre in Brno was established. Up to now, this is one of the biggest centres in Europe, often a point for culture or trade fairs.
One of the most significant architectural monuments in Brno is the functionalist Villa Tugendhat, which was included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and build around the crucial 1930, this monument of modern architecture carries not only unique outside facade and interior design, but a family history dignified for a novel.
Brno is 2 and half hours drive from Prague. There will be a private bus for you. The arrival in Brno should be at 11 am. You will have one hour for lunch with the group. Between 12 and 4 pm you will have a lecture on the topic:

The departure from Brno will be at 6 pm. You are expected to arrive in Prague at 9 pm.
