Pavla Gomba was appointed the Executive Director of UNICEF Czech Republic in 2000. Before assuming this position, she worked as the Business Analyst for the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and as the Commercial Officer at the Royal Danish Embassy in Prague. She also had a short-term assignment at the Municipality of Masvingo, Zimbabwe, as a consultant to the Town Treasurer.
She was elected the member of the Audiovisual Regulatory Board by the Parliament of the Czech Republic for the period 2004 - 2010. She is the member of the Executive Board of NROS (Civil Society Development Foundation) since 2008 and in 2013, she was elected the member of the Czech Committee for Child Rights.
Based on her extensive travel to the developing countries she published a book compiling human interest stories titled “Can You Hear Us?”. Pavla Gomba earned her master’s degree in finance and human resources from the University of Economics in Prague and currently pursues a PhD. at the Technical University in Ostrava. She was recognized as the 35th most influential woman in the Czech Republic in 2013 and 2014 by Forbes.
